Woodstock was the only city in Western Ontario to be chosen to host a clinic
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Minor Baseball Association is excited to announce a once in a lifetime youth baseball clinic is coming to the Friendly City.
Each year the Blue Jays Baseball Academy hosts baseball camps across Ontario to help teach youth the ins and outs of major league baseball.
Woodstock was the only city in Western Ontario to be chosen to host a clinic.
Rick Rochon, Director of Player Development for the WMB, says the program will see youth spend the day with NCCP certified coaches that work directly with the Blue Jays team.
"Academy instructors are all registered and accredited coaching staff. They are taught in the 'Blue Jays' way of doing things, or of teaching baseball to youth. They will be instructing the player on skills such as catching, hitting, throwing, and running. All the aspects of baseball."
The clinic will take place on May 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tip O'Neill Park in Woodstock. Registration is just $65+tax and includes a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt, digital baseball skills manual and one FREE kids ticket to a Blue Jays game.
Rochon also shared that $25 from each of the first 25 registrations will go back to the Woodstock Minor Baseball Association.
