Nobody was injured when a string of boats caught fire in Norfolk County.
NORFOLK COUNTY - At least three boats went up in flames in Norfolk County.
The blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m yesterday afternoon on Hwy#24 between Hwy#6 and Cullimore Lane.
Containing the fire was a joint effort by three different fire departments from Port Dover, Victoria and Simcoe.
Norfolk Deputy Fire Chief Gord Stilwell says it wasn't easy to control.
"These fires are difficult to extinguish partly because of the compartments of the boats and the fuel load. We will be looking at close to a million dollars in damage, and that is just a preliminary number."
Norfolk OPP say there were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
