PRINCETON - Southwest Public Health has issued a boil water advisory.

The reason for the advisory is that the Medical Officer of Health has been advised that a water main break/pressure loss incident occurred at 40 Victoria St. West in Princeton early this morning (Wednesday, August 9th).

While the pressure has been restored, the boil water advisory is recommended as a precaution in case of potential contamination of the drinking water system.

All users of the drinking water system located in Princeton are being notified of this advisory.

The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ninh Tran, is advising users to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes e.g., drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice.

A "Boil Water FAQ" is available from the Southwestern Public Health Unit website.

This advisory measure is in place until such time as bacteriological tests prove the water to be safe.

Please direct questions to our Environmental Health Department at 1-800-922-0096.
