The fundraiser will kick off at C&D Lanes on Wednesday May the 4th
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock's Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser is fast approaching and there's still space available for teams to register.
This is the first time the organization is holding the event in the spring. They used to hold it during February. Fundraising Marketing Assistant Kristen Ralph says they pushed the event to the spring, so it happens around the same time as other Bowl for Kids Sake events in Oxford County.
"We've changed it to coincide with Ingersoll Tillsonburg, so people can hear the messages from the both of us, so we changed it to the beginning of May."
Since the fundraiser will kick off at C&D Lanes on Wednesday May the 4th, which is considered Star Wars Day, the fundraiser will have a Star Wars theme. It will also run on May 6th and 7th, which is the following Friday and Saturday.
Ralph says the organization really benefits from the fundraiser's they hold.
"Big Brothers Big Sisters does not get any sort of ongoing government funding. We look to our fundraiser's to help continue to provide our safe and trusted mentoring programs to the children and youth in Woodstock and District."
Those who want to participate in the fundraiser can register a team by clicking here. They can also register by calling the Big Brothers Big Sisters Woodstock office at 519-537-6404.
Those who can't attend the fundraiser but want to donate can make a donation on their website. They can also visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters office at 787 Dundas Street in Woodstock.
