Phillips passed away due to cancer and he served 16 years of service, with the last 11 of them in Brant County.
BRANT COUNTY - The Brant County Deputy District Fire Chief, Robert Phillips has passed away due to cancer.
He leaves behind his wife, Kelly, and two children, Lauryn and Luke. Robert Phillips served sixteen years of service, the last 11 years with the County of Brant.
Fire Chief Geoff Hayman says they are all going to miss their friend dearly.
"We are so grateful for Rob’s contribution to the Fire Services and the community. He will be greatly missed by the entire Fire team. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends. Our community has lost a hero."
Before Deputy District Chief Robert Phillip’s passing, Fire Services organized emergency vehicles to pass by his house, showing their love and support. Over a hundred vehicles waited in the procession to pass by his house, wave, with signs of encouragement and support hanging from the side of the vehicles.
District Chief of Airport Station Brent Cain says it was an emotional day.
"It was a heartwarming event to see so many of our sisters and brothers show up to support Rob. We have each other’s backs through the good and the hard times."
