Police say a Brantford man assaulted a police officer and damaged a cruiser when he was being arrested for a robbery at a gas station in Paris.
PARIS - Police have arrested a 41 year old man from Brantford after a robbery at the Esso gas station in Paris.
Brant OPP say the robbery happened last Thursday night on Dundas Street East. The man made off with some cigarettes and confectionary before fleeing the scene on foot.
The West Region Emergency Response Team and the K-9 unit were called in and they eventually found a suspect a short distance away from the robbery. During the arrest an officer was assaulted and damage was done to a police cruiser.
Kevin Albrecht is facing the following charges:
- Robbery Section 344(1)(b)
- Assault Section 266
- Mischief Section 430(4)
- Assaulting a Police Officer Section 270(1)(a)
Albrecht will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to his charges.
