Seat belt fine will cost you $240, plus 2 demerit points
Woodstock Police are hitting the streets today starting their next traffic blitz.
For the next two weeks, police will be looking for drivers, and passengers who aren't buckled up.
The fine for not wearing your seatbelt is $240, and two demerit points.
Drivers are also responsible for ensuring that all passengers under the age of 16 are buckled up properly.
Ministry of Transportation studies show that around 8% of Ontario drivers do not wear a seatbelt, or they don't wear it properly.
