Oxford County Council had one thing on their mind at the latest meeting. The budget has been released and Councilors now have to figure out what they would like to have money put towards.
OXFORD COUNTY - There was one big topic discussed with Oxford County Council.
Warden, Marcus Ryan says exactly what took place.
"It's the beginning of budget season, and that's really where everybody at Council's focus was. There's some really, really big things to work on in Oxford County."
Ryan adds Council will have to make decisions in order to make sure they are spending the tax dollars on the priorities residents have voiced concerns about.
He explains where some of the projects that money could be put towards.
"There's a million dollars proposed for more housing projects, another million for long-term care homes, so the Woodingford Lodges in Oxford County, and 2.3-million for ambulance response times."
Ryan adds that he feels like Council can achieve what has been set out in the budget and make residents happy.
