Woodstock Police dealt with an aggressive arrest and a driver going the wrong way on the 401 this weekend.
WOODSTOCK - It was another busy weekend for the Woodstock Police who responded to over 100 calls for service.
A 27 year old man from Woodstock is facing a number of charges after police pulled him over on Winniett Street on Sunday morning. The man did not have his i.d. with him and was placed under arrest. According to police he resisted and actually assaulted the officer. The officer did not require any medical attention and the man will answer to the charges on April 24th in Woodstock Courts.
Woodstock Police also responded to a call about a man who went the wrong way on the 401. Police were called on Sunday morning and the car was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes. Luckily, no collisions resulted and the car was found a short time later in Woodstock. After investigating police determined the driver had gotten confused in his travels due to fatigue.
Police would like to remind drivers that the physical and mental impairment brought about by inadequate rest, does affect everyone’s road safety. Your judgements, responses and avoidance actions are greatly diminished. Don't ignore the signs of fatigue.
