If you have a tween or teen always taking selfies, the city of Woodstock has the perfect program to help them master the art.
WOODSTOCK - Taking the perfect photo or selfie is a true art for some especially today's youth. With social media sites like Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat becoming immensely popular, kids are taking their photo snapping to a whole new level.
The City of Woodstock felt photography would be an ideal recreation program to offer youth to assist in mastering their skills behind a lens in a new 6 week program.
Supervisor of Recreation Programs, Grants and Sponsorship with the City of Woodstock, Emma Vondervoort says the program is ideal for kids in this saturated social media world.
"So we have it available for ages 8-12 as well as 13-17, and it takes place at the community complex, and essentially you bring your own camera or a phone with a camera."
Vondervoort says it really is amazing how great the cameras are on phones these days, but it's not just selfies that will be taught during the program.
"We will learn about lighting, composition and of course how to take selfies, all that good stuff."
The course is offered on Tuesdays, starting May 8th, you can register online here.
