The fundraiser is in support of CMHA Oxford and the Youth Suicide Prevention Team and the t-shirts are being sold right now at the WSC Image Professionals in the Friendly City.
WOODSTOCK - You can now buy a new t-shirt and help a couple of great causes in Woodstock.
All of the funds from the t-shirts will go to support CMHA Oxford and the Youth Suicide Prevention Team.
Organizer Christine Byrne explains how she came up with the slogan.
"The catchphrase kind of just came to me, Don't Give Up, Open Up, I thought it would be a good way to reach people who are perhaps thinking about negative thoughts or suicide and I wanted to reach people before they get to that point and send them the message to not give up, but open up."
CMHA Oxford has a team of professionals who are ready and willing to help you in anyway they can. Byrne says the issue hits close to home for her.
"We have a little bit of history in our family with suicide and I know, quite a few people who have been touched by that, either attempting or thinking of it. It's sad that we can't reach people before they get to that point, so that is why I came up with the slogan."
The t-shirts cost $25.00 and can be purchased at the WSC Image Professionals at 900 Nellis Street.
You can pay cash at the store or through an e-transfer at prevsuicide@outlook.com. Byrne donated $1,000 to make the t-shirt.
Already, they have sold 50 t-shirts and they just launched last week.
