It's the 107th Calithumpian and the theme is Tropi-Cali Weekend.
THAMESFORD - It's a long standing tradition in the village of Thamesford.
The 107th Calithumpian will be taking place this weekend. The festival always takes over the village during the May long weekend with lots of fun events scheduled for the four days.
Today's schedule includes the McFarlan Rowlands charity barbeque, a ball hockey tournament, a Moana watch party, and the men's slo-pitch game complete with the Tropi-Cali beer tent.
Community wide yard sales will takeover the village tomorrow, in addition to the adults beach volleyball tournament, children's races and more. Lisa Goodwin, the Vice President of the Calithumpian committee, says they're also introducing something new.
"We're doing a video dance party at the arena, so I'm pretty excited to have all of the big screens there. It is a 19 plus event because we will have a beer tent on the ice surface and it's $10 admission at the door."
Sunday's schedule includes the Trout Brunch at the arena, which will be hosted by the local Lions Club. There's also going to be a kids fun fair at the arena, and a home run derby at the North Park ball diamond. Goodwin says fireworks light up the sky starting at dusk.
"Those are going to be best viewed from North Park on Sunday night. Spots are very limited for parking so we do suggest you come early if you're looking to get a spot, otherwise parking will be on the side streets around town and you can just walk to North Park."
The fireworks will be postponed to Monday if the weather doesn't cooperate.
The festival will wrap up with the Calithumpian parade on Sunday. It will leave the arena at 1:00 p.m. and it will follow the same parade route as the past few years.
