The village of Otterville will be hosting all of Norwich Township for Canada Day festivities
The village of Otterville has a busy schedule planned for Canada Day weekend.
The festivities will kick off on the Friday evening with a special opening ceremony at the Mill. There will also be a Tricycle Challenge and a Wing Ding Dinner and Dance
Multiple events are planned for Canada's 150th birthday; including the annual parade and a chicken barbeque. Chicken barbeque tickets should be purchased in advance by e-mailing Glen Renn at glen.renn@gmail.com
Committee Member Gail Lewis tells Heart FM about a history scavenger hunt they have planned for the Saturday afternoon.
"The things you're scavenging for are sheets with bits of Otterville's history of it and you need an entry form to answer the questions which you will find the answers for on each sheet. Otterville has some pretty amazing history that you will learn about."
Kids and adults are welcome to participate in the hunt.
Things will wind down on the Sunday with an outdoor church service, a picnic, and rubber ducky races. Lewis says the Sunday will also feature an extra special book debut.
"We are launching an amazing book. It's the history of World War 1 in this area it's called Experiencing the Great War: the Township of Norwich 1913-1919 and that will be at Woodlawn."
