Canada's 146th birthday will be celebrated in style in Woodstock. Southside Park is the place to be for kids rides, a petting zoo and live entertainment on two stages, starting at 2PM. There's a slo-pitch tournament in the park that got underway at 9AM. Official Opening Ceremonies with short speeches and a cutting of the cake will take place at 6. Community Services Manager Brad Janssen says the day will then culminate with the fireworks at dusk. "With the generosity of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and the City of Woodstock, $20,000 display. Fireworks are almost like parades, they can be too long. It's going to be a good, solid 20 minute show, big, big finale, we're going to fill the sky, it's going to be spectacular. " There are parking restrictions in Southside Park, and South Street will be closed to traffic. The city encourages residents to carpool if possible.
