Another blow to the local economy as Canada's Outdoor Farm Show will not be having an in person event in Woodstock again this year.
WOODSTOCK - Canada's Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock will not be moving forward again this year.
Glacier Farm Media sent out the following message via email this afternoon:
"Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show as a large, in-person event will not be moving forward in 2021. As previously released, the team has been exploring the opportunity to proceed with the in-person event this year, including scenario planning and engaging with public health officials and provincial governments. Through this exploration, it has been determined that it is not viable to produce an in-person event this year, given the lingering state of the pandemic and vaccine rollout. As always, the safety of guests, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and staff, suppliers, and local communities is of the utmost importance. While it is encouraging to see the province entering into Stage 2 of its re-opening strategy, the timing makes it impossible to plan and execute the event."
They do still plan to move forward with the digital days event, more details can be found online here.
The Discovery Farm Woodstock, which is the site of the Farm Show, will still be fully operational this fall. The team is planning to move forward with small in-person events, based on Public Health Guidelines. The facility will also be available to rent.
The plan is welcome back farmers to the region in 2022.
This is a big blow to the local economy as the Farm Show draws thousands of visitors to Woodstock every year in September.
