CASS encourages people to come out to a health and wellness conference to discover the resources available in Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - A health and wellness conference will be held at College Avenue Secondary School to help people discover the resources available.
CASS Cares will feature keynote speaker Dr. Amanullah, who is the registered psychiatrist at the Woodstock Hospital. Business teacher at CASS Jim Blair tells Heart FM why they are hosting the Health and Wellness event.
"And it is overall just an information event to provide parents, staff and individuals with a little bit more knowledge about the programs that are available to residents of Oxford County."
Blair says they will have the event set up kind of like a fair.
"We will have a whole bunch of displays from all of the community organizations that exist throughout Oxford County: the PEPP program, CMHA Oxford will be there and we have mobilized all of the supports in Oxford County and we just hope people will take advantage and come out to CASS Cares this weekend."
There are many sessions dealing with mental health challenges, but there will also be a zumba fitness class as well.
Parents and their children are encouraged to attend the seminar, however it is open to anyone in the community.
It's happening this Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at CASS in Woodstock.
