Dozens of members continue to bare the cold temperatures picketing outside their London plant after negotiations with U.S. based Caterpillar Inc. broke off December 31st. Plant Chair Person Bob Scott says support from several communities is pouring in - including Ingersoll's CAW Local 88 "We've had no communication from the company at all so far at this point, so our members are standing very strongly. We've had a lot of positive impact from the community, we've had other communities starting to step forward. We have Cami 88 coming down here on the Saturday and we're going to do a little bar-b-q for the membership." President of CAW Local 88 Dan Borthwick spoke with Heart-FM this morning and says he's also concerned for the workers and families who not only work for Electro Motive, but who also work for the suppliers of the plant "It affects London, but it also affects the surrounding community where these members are living. Indirectly it affects all the members who are supplying parts for EMC. Members of Local 88 will be holding a 'solidarity' b-b-q this Saturday morning at 11:30 at the Oxford Street location in London.
