The Lifetime Achievement Award for minor hockey has been awarded to Pat Langdon, the General Manager for Woodstock Minor Hockey.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Minor Hockey Lifetime Achievement Award was given out on Monday night.
Pat Langdon, the General Manager of Woodstock Minor Hockey, was proud to be the recipient of the award. She started volunteering with Woodstock Minor Hockey 40 years ago with the Woodstock Minor Mothers. After her time with the Minor Mothers, she moved to the executive side of the league, quickly becoming the Vice President then taking on the role of General Manager for the last 23 years.
Minor hockey has been a big part in Langdon's life, just the same as she has been a big part of minor hockey in Woodstock.
"My husband was on the board at the same time I was. My son started playing in minor hockey, then he moved on to refereeing, then my daughter started refereeing. I loved it so much so I just kept going. My grandson started playing and I just kept going. It's kind of in my soul now, its my life."
Langdon went on to mention how Woodstock Minor Hockey has helped her keep her love for the sport.
"If you are depressed about how hockey is going, you just gotta go down and watch the four and five year olds on the ice and it brings the love of hockey all right back."
Pat was surprised with the award at a Woodstock Minor Hockey meeting on Monday night. Congratulations Pat Langdon and thanks for your work in the league.
