Some positive news for football fans!
The CFL has voted in favour of kicking off the 2021 season on August 5th.
In November, the league unveiled plans for an 18 game season that was initially expected to start in June.
However, the start date was pushed back to August, the number of games was brought down to 14, and the Grey Cup was pushed back from November 21st to December 12th in Hamilton.
The league will release the schedule tomorrow.
The board's approval also means that training camp is scheduled to start on July 10th.
This comes after the province announced its return to play plan for professional and elite amateur leagues earlier today.
