The annual Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign is set to make a return to Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - The Salvation Army in Woodstock has put out a call for volunteers.
Their annual Kettle Campaign is about to begin, and they are looking for people to staff the kettles. Community Ministries Director, Captain Kristen Gray says when people can expect to see the kettles.
"Our campaign this year starts on Friday, November 29th. We will be out every weekend until Christmas, right up until Christmas Eve."
Gray says the kettles will be at five locations in the city: Zehrs, Walmart, outside the LCBO, No Frills, and Sobey's. She mentions that the campaign is very dependent on volunteers.
"Every year it seems to get harder to fill all those kettle shifts. The Christmas campaign is so critical for us to support the work that we do both at Christmas and all year round, so we can't do that without volunteers."
Shifts for the kettles are two hours, but Gray says if you are not able to put in a full two hours, but still want to help they will take the time you have. You can call the Salvation Army or visit their website for all the information about how to sign up to become a volunteer.
