Christmas Movie Filmed in Brant County

Production crews took over the Cainsville Fire Hall on January 10th, so they could film scenes for an upcoming Christmas movie.

BRANT COUNTY - The Cainsville Fire Station will be featured in an upcoming Christmas Movie.

Brant County has long been a favourited Canadian spot for the film industry to embark on. Notable projects filmed in the County include Murdoch Mysteries, The Handmaids Tale, HGTV's Farmhouse Facelift, and Disney's Secret Society of Second Born Royals. The production manager for the movie chose Brant County for filming because the community is film friendly and easy to work with.

Russell Press, Director of Economic Development and Tourism, says Brant County is invested in expanding into the film industry as long as production companies are willing to work with local artists and businesses.

"The County of Brant has worked really hard and diligently [in the film industry]. We put a filming strategy in place last year and released it so we can provide opportunities for local artists and local small businesses that can be utilized in filming productions. [We make] sure that we are attracting productions that are film friendly for the County of Brant, and that aren't completely interruptive [to the public]."

Filming for the movie took place on January 10th and included a cast and crew of sixty people.

The movie is about a small-town fireman who reaches out to a local artist in order to help him create a homemade Christmas quilt for a family member. The name of the movie and exact release date have not yet been released, but it is expected to come to our screens later this year around the holiday season.
