The Oxford Winds Community Concert Band has released their 2020 Christmas With the Winds Concert with a feature length video.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford Winds Community Concert Band isn't going to let COVID-19 stop them from getting into the Christmas spirit.
The community band is going to present their annual Christmas with the Winds concert for a virtual audience this year. Music Director Stephanie Riehl says the project gave members a sense of belonging and purpose.
“Everyone misses rehearsing and seeing each other, and this was a wonderful way for the group to stay in touch, and also say thank you to the community for supporting music during a difficult time.”
The band has been rehearsing virtually and from tuba to flute, they are ready to bust out everyone's seasonal favourites. Riehl says they hope this concert length video is something everyone can enjoy.
The Oxford Winds Community Concert Band was grateful to be a recipient of an Oxford Community Foundation grant that helped make this project possible. Any organizations or long-term care homes who would like a hard copy of the video should contact the Oxford Winds at 519-608-2222.
To view the video, find the band on Facebook @oxfordwinds or YouTube @theoxfordwinds. For more information on becoming a patron of the Oxford Winds and supporting local arts, visit oxfordwinds.ca.
