Amanda Nelson and Alida Kingswood will be inducted into the Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame on September 23rd, 2023.
WOODSTOCK - Two local athletes will be added to the Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame.
Amanda Nelson and Alida Kingswood will be inducted alongside six others this fall.
Nelson is a 33-year-old ultra-marathoner, who broke the women's record for most yards ran at the Backyard Ultra World Championships in British Columbia last year. She ran 55 hours over three days, finishing with a total of 368 kilometres.
Kingswood is 91-years-old and she broke the lightweight 2,000 metre rowing record for the 90-94 age group at the World Rowing Indoor Championship earlier this year.
The Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame is located at the Community Complex and the induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday September 23rd. This will be the first induction ceremony since 2019.
Woodstock City Council approved the addition of Kingswood and Nelson to the list of inductees during last night's meeting.
