Woodstock City Council has decided how they want to distribute the $950,000 in surplus from last year's budget.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council has decided what they're going to do with $950,000 of surplus funds from the 2015 budget.
Patrice Hilderley, Director of Administrative Services, says $850,000 will be going into a reserve for capital projects.
"Things like building roads, sewers, sidewalks, we can put it into new buildings, acquiring equipment, vehicles, that kind of thing."
The remaining $100,000 will be going into a reserve for a new radio system according to Hilderley.
"We have a new fire and police radio system. In the event there's an overage we might need to use that money for that and moving forward we'll use it for maintenance on that system to keep it up."
Hilderley believes the surplus funds were allocated in a very thoughtful manner.
