It has been over a week and still, Woodstock City employee's do not have access to their emails, data or their network after a Cyber Attack.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is still reeling from an apparent cyber attack.
All City employees do not have access to emails, data and the City network. This includes essential services like the Woodstock Police and Woodstock Fire Department.
When we spoke with City officials last week, they had hoped that the system would be up and running later this week. No update has been provided at this time.
A similar cyber attack also hit two rural hospitals in Listowel and Wingham last week.
The City of Stratford and the City of Owen Sound have also been the victim of cyber attacks recently. In the case of the City of Stratford, they did have to pay a $75,000 ransom in bit coin to get everything operational.
We are hoping to get an update from the City tonight at their council meeting, if not beforehand.
