WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is reminding residents they will be issuing fines for non compliance when it comes to social distancing.
Yesterday, the Mayor made it clear, you can still go for a walk in the park or on the trails as long as you keep a 2 metre distance. This is still true, however all of the park amenities are closed and fines will be issued for non-compliance.
In addition to the closure of park amenities which includes but not limited to:
- ALL playground equipment
- ALL sports fields
- Basketball and tennis courts
- Off-leash dog parks
- Beaches
- Skateboard and BMX parks
- Picnic areas
- Community gardens
- Park shelters
- Outdoor exercise equipment
- Condo parks and gardens
- Park benches and bleachers
- Other outdoor recreational amenities
The above listed are CLOSED and OFF limits until further notice.
Park green spaces and trails WILL remain open, however EVERYONE is asked to observe recommended social distancing (2 metres.)
Woodstock Police Service and City of Woodstock By-law will continue to monitor City parks and facilities and have the authority to fine those in violation of these closures. Concerned citizens may report violators at (519)-537-2323.
