It's a deal! OPSEU Local 133 members voted 99% in favour of a 3 year deal with the Canadian Mental Health Association-Oxford Wednesday night. On Tuesday, the bargaining team reached a tentative agreement with the organization. Local 133 President Tischa Forster announced today that "enhancements in the third year of the contract include a first time ever dental plan for employees and their families, $750 to a health spending account with pension rollover options, 8cents/km mileage increase, 2% increase on wages in the 3rd year, enhanced vacation package, vision care enhancement and benefit improvement for use of vehicles for businesses of the organization". Forster says "healthcare workers in Ontario are under a 2 year wage freeze, and our group has done their part to recognize and accept the 2 years of zero increases". Heart FM will have more on this story including reactions later today.
