The Sri Guru Sabha working committee and the Woodstock Punjabi Community sports and cultural club are hosting a community food drive on April 16 at CASS.
WOODSTOCK - The Sri Guru Sabha working committee and the Woodstock Punjabi Community sports and cultural club is celebrating Sikh Heritage month and Khalsa Sagna Divas with a community food drive.
They will be collecting donations for United Way Oxford on Saturday April 16, between 10:30 am to 3 pm at College Ave Secondary School. Residents are invited to stop by and donate non perishable food donations. They also need personal hygiene products and cleaning supplies.
Sikh Heritage Month centres around Vaisakhi which is a very important day for Sikhs as It occurs during mid-April every year and traditionally concurs in Punjab with the first harvesting of the crops for the year.
