The community of Tillsonburg is being asked to rally around a young woman facing the biggest battle of her life.
TILLSONBURG - A community BBQ, Bake Sale and Car Wash in Tillsonburg will be going to support a young women who was recently diagnosed with acute Leukemia.
Karen Diaz is described as a wonderful person by friends and family and has been in and out of the hospital for over a month now. Co-organizer of the even Caitlin Fulton tells Heart FM they just wanted to raise some funds for the family during this trying time.
"She has to continue to her chemotherapy from home and many of the treatments and that are actually not covered, so there are just different expenses that keep coming up and we just want to make sure the family is comfortable, I mean money is not something they should have to worry about at a time like this."
Fulton is organizing the even with her sister Becca Winn and she says they will have a bouncy castle as well and it promises to be a fun morning for the entire family.
It's all happening at the RE/MAX parking lot in Tillsonburg on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
