A public information session will be taking place at the Oxford County Administration Building tonight, all about the next phases of the Wilson Street construction project in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Spring construction is fast approaching in Oxford County
This year, the City of Woodstock will see work continue on Highway 59 (Wilson St).
The project is expected to take place in two phases. The "North phase" will include road work on Huron St. from Adelaide St. to Dundas St. The "South phase" will focus on Wilson St. construction from Dundas to the CN Railway.
Construction will begin in April and is expected to last until October.
Melissa Abercombie, the Public Works Manager of Engineering Services for Oxford County, says detour routes are already planned for the city.
"For each phase, there will be a separate detour route. For the first phase, [the detour] will be along Ingersoll Ave, down Wellington, and back to Dundas. For the second phase [the detour] will be across Dundas, down Wellington, and back over on Henry St."
A public Information session to view the plans and discuss project details is being held tonight at the Oxford County Administration Building beginning at 6:00 p.m. You can find more details online here.
