Waterloo Regional Police are facing a $900,000 lawsuit over the actions of one of their officers, a Woodstock resident. Matthew Waltenberry is suing the police force, after Constable Christopher Knox stole nude photos from his home, and shared them electronically in a Blackberry group message with other members of the force. At least six other officers saw the photos in February of 2011. Police were responding to a report of a suicidal woman at Waltenberry's home, and says while he was outside, Knox took 12 photos from a drawer in his dresser. Last year, Knox pleaded guilty to breach of trust and obstruction of justice and resigned from the force. Waltenberry testified in court yesterday, saying the photos were for a modeling portfolio, and were never supposed to be made public.
