The 13th annual Vette fest is underway at Anderson GM dealership on Dundas.
WOODSTOCK - Corvette enthusiasts from all over will be flocking to Woodstock.
The 13th annual Vette Fest at Anderson GM happens this Saturday.
Although it's a great day for gear heads, there is a bigger purpose behind it all; proceeds from the show will be going to the United Way. "So far there's been over $25 000, last year alone we raised $7 000 and this year we're hoping to pass the $30 000 mark," one of the organizers, Jerry Acchione says.
Corvettes will come from all over Ontario, Quebec, and the States to show off. There is a $20 fee per Corvette when they arrive, but it is a free event for spectators. To help raise more funds for the United Way there will also be draw prizes, a 50/50 draw, and a barbeque.
Last year 283 Corvettes came out, including some ultra rare finds. But according to Acchione, this year they will be sharing the spotlight with some very interesting guests. "We do have the 2016 Z06 Corvette coming right from General Motors. We also have the Z28 Camaro. They're going to be here in the showroom. They're not going to be test driven unfortunately. The vehicles are just here for show - take a look at, take your pictures with. They're going to be a lot of selfie cars, I'm sure."
The event starts at 9 a.m. at Anderson GM on Dundas Street, and runs until 1 p.m.
