Woodstock city council will be taking a closer look at the potential impacts a new gas station would have on the surrounding area.
WOODSTOCK - An application to change zoning to accommodate construction of a gas station at Sally Creek has been brought to Woodstock City Council. The problem is many residents in the area were not informed of the application before it was brought to council, and the traffic in the area may pose an issue.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says council will be taking a closer look at the issues before making a decision.
"Defer the application and request the county look into the traffic and prioritize signals for that location. When it goes back to the public again there will be a broader circulation so the notifications of the change will go to more residences."
Birtch adds council understands the concerns of the public and this is an example of the public consultation system at work.
