Woodstock City council has thrown their support behind the creation of a police office at the Oxford County Court house. Woodstock Police believe by having their own secure area within the courthouse, it would cut down on some logistical issues that often cause delays and inefficiencies in court proceedings. Councillor and Chair of the Police Service Board Sandra Talbot says as it stands now officers attending court don't have anywhere to put private files, talk on the telephone or use a computer. "I'm pleased council saw fit to support it going forward. I would like to see our officers have that facility or capability there to you know, have those necessities there for them. " Council voted to support the motion and ask that the courts pay for and provide the space.
