You may pay a little less on the County portion of your property taxes this year. Oxford County Council has finalized this year's budget at a 1.3% increase. But with a growing local tax base, and changes due to MPAC assessments, the average taxpayer will see $9.89 less in County taxes next year. Council finalized the budget late Wednesday afternoon, adding in $75,000 for staff to undertake the development of a trails master plan. There's also additional money for roads, tourism, economic development and cultural programs.
