A COVID-19 Assessment Centre has opened at the Woodstock Hospital.
WOODSTOCK - A COVID-19 Assessment Centre has opened at the Woodstock Hospital.
This is a collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Southwestern Public Health and community health care partners. There is a trailer on the hospital property that will serve as the official Assessment Centre for residents of Woodstock and Oxford County.
At this time, this is not a walk-in or drive up assessment centre. Patients are referred to this assessment centre by either a family physician or nurse practitioner, TeleHealth Ontario, Southwestern Public Health, or by calling 1-855-905-6148 and following the instructions.
Please consider the following before calling 1-855-905-6148:
- Use the Government of Ontario’s online self-assessment tool. It can be accessed here:
- Call TeleHealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000
- If you have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, self-isolate immediately and call Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 #9.
If you are referred to the assessment centre, you will be given an appointment time. Please bring your Ontario health card or another form of identification. Use the Juliana Drive entrance and park in the visitor parking lot. There will be signs directing you to a designated parking spot for the COVID-19 Assessment Centre.
Parking fees have been waived. Once parked, please stay in your vehicle. You will be contacted when it is your time to enter the assessment centre.
Please note, not everyone at the assessment centre will be tested. Woodstock President and CEO Perry Lang says the physician performing the assessment will determine this.
“Assessment centres are opening across the province in an effort to offer guidance and support for individuals with COVID-19 concerns, while reducing non-emergent cases heading to Emergency Departments We will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation in the community, and may adjust the assessment centre as required.”
Woodstock Hospital’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre is operating 7 days a week, from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm.
