The bookings for the mass vaccination clinics in Woodstock next week booked up in a matter of hours this morning. The next time to book an appointment will be on March 15th.
OXFORD COUNTY/ELGIN COUNTY/ ST. THOMAS - The first block of appointments for the mass vaccination clinics in Woodstock and St. Thomas are booked.
The bookings for next were filled with adults aged 80 and over and indigenous adults 55 and over. The Health Unit is expecting another 5,000 new appointments will be available for the week of march 22.
Program Manager of the local COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force Jaime Fletcher says the bookings came fast and furious today.
"As expected, there was a tremendous response to the announcement that appointments were available in St. Thomas and in Woodstock. For our first week of operation, we had a relatively small number of doses available and they booked up quickly. However, we'll have more than double the number for the following week, and the week after that."
The Health Unit is reminding residents to be patient and they will have enough vaccine supplies for everyone who wants one. The number of appointments will continue to increase as the Health Unit secures more doses of the vaccine.
The next time to book an appointment for eligible residents of Oxford County, Elgin County and the City of St. Thomas will be on Monday March 15th.
The number to call to book an appointment is 226-289-3560 or you can book one online at www.covidvaccinelm.ca.
