CRA Scam Hits Woodstock... AGAIN

Several residents have complained about getting calls from scam artist pretending to work for the Canada Revenue Agency.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are warning the public to be cautious of the Canada Revenue Agency scam. 

Several residents have complained about getting calls from scam artist pretending to work for the CRA. The calls have targeted our community sporadically over the past year, with the callers using a number of ploys but always wanting the same thing, to have the victim send them money. 

Police are warning the public if you get a call from any organization demanding money over the phone to hang up and investigate accordingly. Also never provide any personal information over the phone such as bank account information, pin numbers or social insurance information. 

If you should fall victim to this or any similar types fraud, contact your local police service.
