DELHI - Norfolk OPP have closed off a section of Western Ave between Talbot Road and Main Street in Delhi after a car slammed into a hydro pole.
The collision caused the vehicle to flip over and the driver was lucky to only suffer minor injuries. The impact of the crash also caused the pole to break in half, before landing on the vehicle. Hydro One has been called into fix the pole. They will be turning the power off to several residents in the area because of the crash.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says this will create some traffic issues in Delhi.
"This is usually the detoured route for Mill Street, so if you are traveling down Highway 3 and Talbot Road, you are more than likely going to be taking the Mill Street exit in order to detour around this crash."
Sanchuk says it could take some time before the area is cleaned up, the hydro pole is replaced and power is restored to every resident.
