You can pay to bail the culprits out of jail or keep them in.
OXFORD COUNTY - Several local celebrities and community leaders will be thrown behind virtual bars, in support of Crime Stoppers of Oxford.
They will be charged with fictitious crimes through the Jail and Bail fundraiser with the bail money raising funds for Crime Stoppers.
Dan Henry and Marcie Culbert from the Heart FM morning show are the first to be thrown in the virtual jail, charged with being too happy so early in the morning. Their bail has been set at $1,047 and you can donate here to help bail them out.
However, Crime Stoppers Director Jan Hauk says there is another way you can support the cause.
"Should you like to keep Dan and Marcie in jail, just text the Heart FM line at 519-537-1047 and say how much you're willing to spend to keep them in jail."
The fundraiser will wrap up on May 6th and four others will also be thrown in the virtual jail before then. Their identities will be revealed on the Crime Stoppers of Oxford Facebook page in the coming weeks, but here is a list of the fictitious charges they will be facing:
- Suspect 1: charged with stealing second base. Bail set at $440
- Suspect 2: charged with taking too many "free" samples while doing the Oxford County Cheese Trail. Bail set at $400
- Suspect 3: charged with one count of being a workaholic and one count of sending midnight e-mails. Bail set at $500
- Suspect 4: charged with staring at the eclipse without glasses. Bail set at $400
Jan Hauck stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday April 16th. You can listen to the full interview below:
