Woodstock is set to play host to a unique musical experience. Later this month, David Hickey is bringing his "Crystal Journey" to Knox Presbyterian Church. Hickey explains the concept of Crystal Journey. "It's a very unique musical experience in terms of the instruments that I use. I'll be using pure quartz crystal bowls, so each bowl is a pure tone or note. The gongs, they're played almost like a drum, and each are tuned to the frequency or harmonic of a particular planet, so they're called Planetary Gongs." Hickey also performs with a Vibraphone and Santoor. He says it's something you have to experience. "Once you get there and experience it, then you know what it's all about. Everyone experiences it differently, for some people it's very meditative, for other people it's very musical, there's really something for everybody." Hickey will be performing on Saturday, October 27th at Knox Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 6PM, local guitarists Cameron Hawes and Adri Doro will be opening the evening with an improvisational performance. Operation Sharing will also be raising funds by selling refreshments at the show. Tickets are $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. Click here for more info.
