Email and internet is still down at the City of Woodstock. The impact stretches to the Library and Woodstock Police. However you can still use most of the library services and can continue to borrow from their collections, both digital and physical.
WOODSTOCK - A cyber attack on the City of Woodstock continues to have a trickle down impact.
All City employees do not have access to the Internet right now, emails are not working and data cannot be accessed. This includes essential services like the Woodstock Police.
The attack also disrupted library services to the public as the Woodstock Public Library uses the City’s computer network infrastructure to connect to the Internet.
The Library was able to restore core library services to the public by Saturday afternoon. Patrons can continue to borrow items from their collections, whether physical or digital. The library can still offer free WIFI access, however their Internet work stations not available for use. The Library is also unable to recharge transit passes.
Like the City, the Library is without access to email. A temporary account has been established to contact the Library at myWoodstockPL@gmail.com.
The Library will be working with City IT and their consultants to resolve the situation in a safe and secure manner.
We appreciate the continued patience of our patrons and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. We will post updates when appropriate on our web site at www.myWPL.ca and our social media channels.
