INGERSOLL - Nobody was seriously injured after a crash in Ingersoll this morning involving a car and a cyclist. Police say the collision happened at the intersection of Wellington and Pine street in Ingersoll at 9 a.m. The male driver of the bike was taken to a local area hospital with minor injuries. According to police the car was heading southbound on Wellington Street when the driver began turning eastbound colliding with the young cyclist at the intersection. The 38 year old woman driving the vehicle was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision.
Oxford OPP would like to remind motorists to slow down and pay extra attention when travelling near parks and schools. "Focusing on driving and avoiding distractions, could be the difference between a close call or a trip to the hospital."
