WOODSTOCK - Time is running out to sign up for the Dairy Capital Run with the early bird discount. Space is also limited to 600 participants first come first serve.
The run is back in person for the first time since the pandemic and is going to be in a brand new location, moving from Southside Park to Discovery Farms Woodstock.
The event is focused on fun and raising funds for the Woodstock General Hospital (WGH). Jocelyn Jenner, Senior Development Manager at WGH, explains that funding doesn't always come from Federal support.
"I [don't] think that a lot of people realize that [technology] isn't supported by the government. We rely on events and individual donors to support the hospital so that we can buy new equipment. It is very important, and that's exactly what Dairy Capital Run will be supporting this year. New equipment for the hospital."
Some big changes happening to the event this year include moving the date to Saturday May 27th, a general focus on fun over competitieness, and different distance options Like 5k, 2k, and "Lil Hoofer".
Everyone is encouraged to embrace the theme of the run and come decked out in your dairy costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed. Each participant will receive a finishers medal and shirt as well.
