The money will be used buy milk coupons for pregnant women and young families in Perth County.
PERTH COUNTY - The Perth District Health Unit has accepted a $1,000 donation from the Dairy Producers Committee.
The committee represents 360 dairy producers in Perth County. All of the money donated will be used to help proved nutrition support to local families. It will be used to buy milk coupons for pregnant women and young families.
Public Health nurse Heather Kane says this enables families to purchase bagged milk to support healthy nutrition.
"Receiving continued funding from the Perth County Dairy Producers enables the Health Unit to maintain this vital program and ease the financial challenges for families. This donation will provide Perth County families greater access to nutritious food and will help support healthy growth and development in children."
