OXFORD - The deadline to apply for the Thrive Oxford program is almost here.
Thrive Oxford is relaunching on September 26, with the deadline to apply for the program on September 16 at 4 p.m. The new aim of the program is to support the recovery of small businesses, especially women entrepreneurs that were significantly impacted over the last two years.
Community Futures Oxford is an independent non-profit organization providing business advice, financing, and community economic development support throughout the county, and Thrive Oxford is a program that they offer that started in 2020.
However, the pandemic quickly forced the program to pause, and now Thrive Oxford is returning with its new focus.
Over the course of the program, participants will define business development goals focused on recovery and sustainability. To achieve these goals, support will be provided on topics such as financial literacy, marketing, and how to successfully secure funding.
The program will end with a live pitch presentation, and winners can receive a cash prize of $1,000.
Lindsay Wilson, Community Economic Development Coordinator at Community Futures Oxford gives insight into the program's vision.
"Community Futures Oxford made a commitment to support women entrepreneurs even pre-pandemic. Re-launching Thrive Oxford is the opportunity to continue that commitment while ensuring they have the support to recover their businesses in ways that are effective and sustainable."
