Health Minister Christine Elliott says the Province is going over the responses from the hospitals and will be making a decision on whether or not to implement a provincial mandate soon.
The Province of Ontario is expected to make a decision in the near future regarding mandatory vaccinations for hospital workers.
Several hospitals in the Province have already implemented their own mandate, including the Woodstock Hospital.
Last week the Premier sent a letter to every hospital in the Province, the Ontario Science Table and other experts for input on the decision. Ford at the time said he was hesitant to implement a vaccine mandate for all workers, fearing a labour shortage. Right now, only 85 percent of hospital workers in Ontario are fully vaccinated.
Yesterday the Ontario Science Table sent the Premier a response, stating "requiring that hospital workers be vaccinated is an evidence-based policy that protects Ontarians."
Health Minister Christine Elliott was asked about the Premiers letter to hospitals today. She says they are currently going over the responses and a decision will be coming very soon.
