Each home and business in Norwich will have a designated weekday where they can use outdoor water.
NORWICH - With the maintenance underway on the Norwich water tower, Oxford County would like to remind local residents about the extra water conservation measures in place.
To ensure that everyone in Norwich has a good share of water, a schedule has been created to limit the watering of lawns. Each homeowner has a specific weekday and time for watering and it is determined by the last number of your address. You can find it below:
- Addresses ending with 0 or 1 can water on Mondays,
- Addresses ending with 2 or 3 can water on Tuesdays,
- Addresses ending with 4 or 5 can water on Wednesdays,
- Addresses ending with 6 or 7 can water on Thursdays,
- and addresses ending with 7 or 8 can water on Fridays.
The hours for residential watering are either 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The hours for commercial watering are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The water restrictions began on May 1st and they will remain in effect until September 30th.
The county wants to remind you that using rainwater is great for watering plants and aids in conserving water. If you want to buy one, ensure it has a screen to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. You can purchase one from the county by calling 519-539-9800 or 1-866-537-7778.
