THAMESFORD - A sample of DNA left at the crime scene has helped the Oxford OPP solve a break and enter from 2004.
Police say a business on Highway 19 south of Thamesford was broken into 11 years ago and about $2,600 worth of cash and tools were taken.
Access to the building was gained through a second storey window and blood stains were left at the scene.
Officers collected the samples and they were given to the Centre of Forensic Sciences.
And now after 11 years the collected sample resulted in a positive match in the DNA data bank.
As a result of the match police arrested 29 year old Erick Hanson of London and charged him with Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence.
Hanson was released on a promise to appear in Woodstock on May 26th, 2015.
