Shovels will hit the ground for the new $39-million Dot Foods facility in Ingersoll this afternoon.
INGERSOLL - Dot Foods Canada is finally breaking ground in Ingersoll.
Dot Foods is the largest food industry redistributor in North America, and marks a big step in the right direction for Ingersoll as they hope to fill all the industrial land they have.
The $39-million, 126,500-square-foot distribution center in Ingersoll, is expected to create 200 jobs for warehouse workers and truck drivers, as well as some office and administrative roles.
The groundbreaking event takes place today at 4:30 p.m. at 100 Ken McKee Street, and Executive Chairman John Tracy and other Dot leaders will be joined by local and county officials to kick off the project.
Once the new facility is complete, it will replace operations at the currently leased Brampton location. All employees from the Brampton location will have the first opportunities to take roles at the new facility.
